I’ve heard all the buzz: Beyonce mentioned Onlyfans in her latest remix! This is great news for Onlyfans and Beyonce. “In less than 24 hours since Megan Thee Stallion dropped her ‘Savage’ remix featuring Beyoncé, OnlyFans has seen a 15 percent spike in traffic,” a spokesperson for the site told The Daily Beast. So why is Emma Leviathan choosing to build her AVNStars instead of Onlyfans? Let’s find out!
A Saturated Market
So why did I, Emma Leviathan, decide AVNStars is a better choice for her? Heres the thing: I’ve been in this adult business hustle for six years now. I’ve seen sites come and go, I’ve seen trends, and I know a flooded market when I see one. Sure Onlyfans may have an increase in traffic, but that also means an increase in competition.
Getting in on a site when it is up and coming is a big key to being successful in social media. This is true for every platform, whether it’s Twitter, TicTok or a site catering to adult content such as AVNStars. That ship has sailed for Onlyfans. Sure you could struggle to get to the top, but the competition will be steep and I don’t think anyone can compete with Beyonce.
As I work on my brand, Emma Leviathan, I try to get in on sites while they are in preliminary stages. This helps me build a bigger following while the competition is minimal. As the company grows, so will my fan base because I got in “while the getting was good”.
OnlyFans has had a rocky road.
Recently Onlyfans had a huge security breach. Although Onlyfans denies any fault for the breach, it also takes no responsibility for content stolen from models. Many of Onlyfans model’s personal information, as well as content, was reported as released during the breach. Security is important, especially in sex-work.
“Because of the carelessness these sites have for us, fans have found where I live and sen[t] everything to my home you can think of. Even placed drones over my house,” she recalled. “A few fan-attempted break-ins made me take a break from the business.” –Osa Lovely
Even with all the complaints, OnlyFans maintains that the leak wasn’t their fault or responsibility. No accountability from a company that holds our personal information is a scary thought. As an adult entertainer, we have to remember that there is a risk every time we give our information to a company. It’s an unfortunate truth in the business. Please be wary before doing any adult content online and take measures to protect yourself.
Going Mainstream may go the way of Tumbler
Ever hear of Tumbler? Tumbler is a social media platform that used to allow nudity. Adult performers used it for advertising cam sites and other services. Then one day, Tumbler kicks off its adult performers. It seemed like overnight models were scrambling to take down nudes so their account didn’t get shut down. Many didn’t make it. Thousands of customer leads lost, as well as a major advertising source, the company decided to clean up its act to appease the vanilla world without concern for those that built the platform from the beginning.
Removing pornography after a platform establishes itself isn’t an uncommon phenomenon for social media platforms. I personally have had many social media accounts taken from me because I was a sex worker. All that hard work building a fan base gone overnight.
You see, companies tend to go vanilla and turn their backs on those adult entertainers who helped build their platform. I have no magic ball that will tell me if this will happen with Onlyfans, but it’s not like we haven’t seen it happen over and over again. Companies realize they can reach a broader market if they remove the porn and the need to expand tends to have a dismal effect for us kinkier models.
AVN has catered to Adult performers for years and is a major industry player.
AVN Magazine didn’t just pop up overnight. In fact, AVN/AEE has it’s own convention every year in Las Vegas since 2012 that is all about the adult industries. They understand sex work and the needs of models. They also have the funding to create a safe environment for sex workers because they aren’t a startup.
I don’t foresee AVNStars ever turning it’s back on sex-workers and that is why this platform is so exciting. Now is your chance to get in while it’s new and in its early stages. Less competition with an established company means more revenue for you.
AVNStars is loaded with amazing features. None of which rely on an outside source.
AVNStars is the newest venture for this highly successful company and has been putting new features out regularly. People interested are able to follow your profile for free which gives you a much better chance of reeling in customers. Models can even offer pay-per-view messages to people who aren’t subscribed. This feature results in yet another income stream. Not everyone wants to subscribe, some want to just buy a few things here and there so the flexibility for members it’s a great option.
For the subscriber, there are so many great features you can give them. The platform is very similar to Instagram. You have a timeline with the ability to post pictures, videos, or text only. Each individual post can be set to public or private. There is a story option that can also be set to public or private. I personally love the messaging capabilities. I can send out mass messages and choose to exclude other AVNStars. This option allows me to follow my fellow performers without bothering them with mass messages and pay-per-views. And yes, you can support your favorite sex workers with follows and hearts. Members love it when we support each other and networking is always a great idea.
AVNStars has been cranking out new features since the start. It’s a great platform that is already exceeding my expectations. I foresee my brand, Emma Leviathan, doing great on this site because I’m easily climbing the ranks on AVNStars.
Why can’t I do both! Emma Leviathan’s strategy for AVNStars
You can! Diversifying in this industry is important. If you have the ability to keep up with both sites, then do it. There is nothing wrong with that. As a veteran in the industry, I am on multiple sites and I have tried so many. I, Emma Leviathan, learned so much from each site, but what I can tell you is that focusing on only a few powerful platforms, such as AVNStars, so that you can easily upkeep is the best idea. Consistency is important, so find out what you can manage and do it! I love AVNStars for so many reasons, but what is good for my brand may not be the choice for you. Only you can decide.
